I’ve fallen in love.

With a lipstick.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Charlotte Tilbury has well and truly knocked it out of the park.

Contained within a snazzy rose gold tube is a little bullet of loveliness that packs a big punch. How Charlotte and her team have managed to come up with such an incredible formula is beyond me; it’s like pure alchemy. How can a matte lipstick be so nourishing, so comfortable, so luxurious? Not a clue. However, I don’t care, because they have, and it’s mine, all mine I tell you!

Charlotte’s Lip Cheat lip liner, in Pillow Talk, has become rather a cult product. With it’s velvet texture, waterproof staying power and universally flattering nude tone, it’s not hard to see why. I think this lip pencil would suit anyone, regardless of skin tone.

Now, there’s a lipstick to match and it definitely doesn’t disappoint.

I would describe the colour as a dusky rose pink, with a satiny matte finish that defies logic. I associate matte lipstick with a dry, uncomfortable finish, which is why with my seriously parched lips, I stay away from them. This lipstick is different; it slides on like velvet and stays that way. You can apply it in a sheer layer, almost patting it in with your fingers like a stain, or really lay it on for a more pigmented finish. Either way it’s gorgeous; more of a statement than a nude nude, but still an everyday, extremely flattering shade which you can apply and then just forget about.

Ooh, and the smell; delicious. When I was little, and not bouncing a tennis ball off the wall or playing with Lego or my Domino Rally set (can you still get Domino Rally?), I used to collect things: stamps; pencil sharpeners; and also rubbers (I was an only child – I had to amuse myself somehow). Not as in condoms, just to be clear; I mean as in erasers that you rub pencil out with. Anyhoo, my favourites were the ones that smelled rubbery and caramelly and vanillary all at the same time; this lipstick smells like that! It takes me right back and makes me want to eat the lipstick just like I wanted to eat those rubbers all those years ago. I didn’t by the way. Eat the rubbers. I did once put a load of sequins in my ear; but that’s another story. (Is this an only child thing?)

So yes, the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick is pretty much perfect in every way and there are some other gorgeous shades to choose from and I want them ALL!!!

Haha awesome review, you have me longing to try this now, such a gorgeous shade! The only reason I haven’t is because I am quite the hoarder of nude lip shades and the price deterred me – is it really worth it? I need to know haha! The formula and the scent sound incredible, not to mention the packaging 😀 xx

I know what you mean, I’m pretty obsessed with nude lipsticks and this isn’t a shade I’d normally go for and it is expensive. But the formula’s so fab and the colour so pretty, that I’ve totally fallen for it. It’s the kind of colour I don’t think you could go wrong with (famous last words!). If you’re in doubt, do you live near somewhere that sells CT cosmetics, so you could try before you buy?
